0.2 kW Electric Power Transmission Training System

8055

Description

The 0.2 kW Electric Power Transmission Training System consists of modular hardware with the corresponding courseware. It allows electrical phenomena to be observed through voltage transients and power oscillations. Voltage regulation, real and reactive power flow control, and system stability can also be observed in the laboratory exercises.

The training system was developed by educators to satisfy educational requirements that include industrial applications of electrical power technology. The design objective was to develop a low-power (0.2 kW) transmission line system of equipment that operates like industrial equipment. Through careful attention to engineering detail, the 0.2 kW Electric Power Transmission Training System has achieved this objective and in so doing, provides laboratory results that are easy to understand, with data values that are easily observed. The data, when applied to formulas, provide results that verify electrical laws.

Features & Benefits

  • Sturdy workstations and modules constructed of heavy-gauge steel, finished in baked enamel
  • Cutaway bell housings (front and rear) to permit visual inspection of the internal construction and observation of the machine during operation
  • Comprehensive curriculum includes student manuals and instructor guide with all the necessary theory taught prior to the hands-on experiments
  • The shaft of each machine has a concave and slotted end to facilitate the use of tachometers, holding brakes, plugging switches, or inertia wheels
  • System conception and load components simplify calculations required in the learning process
  • Safe: all electrical components can be interconnected without electric shock hazard, as all live parts of the plugs are concealed and insulated
  • Metering modules are designed to cover the complete range of required measurements with a minimum number of meters
