Description

The Hydraulics Simulation Software (LVSIM®-HYD), a Windows®-based program, covers the same courseware as the following Hydraulics Training Systems: Hydraulics Fundamentals, Model 6080-1, and Electrical Control of Hydraulic Systems, Model 6080-2.

LVSIM®-HYD recreates a three-dimensional classroom laboratory on a computer screen. The actual equipment of the Hydraulics Training Systems is replaced with three-dimensional images, which students can manipulate on the computer screen. Using the mouse, students can install virtual hydraulic equipment in the laboratory, interconnect the equipment, perform lab exercises, and obtain the same results as with the actual training equipment.

Sophisticated mathematical models accurately simulate the mechanical and electrical characteristics of the hydraulic components (valves, cylinders, motors, flowmeters, etc.) and electrical control devices (switches, relays, pilot lamps, etc.) in the actual Hydraulics Training Systems. All components and devices in the LVSIM®-HYD software feature the same functionality and appearance as the actual equipment. Detailed cutaway views can be displayed to observe fluid flow inside the hydraulic components.

Used either as a complement to the actual Hydraulics Training Systems or as a stand-alone product, LVSIM®-HYD is a cost-effective tool that enables students to safely and accurately perform the experiments provided in the courseware. Because students using LVSIM®-HYD become familiar with the equipment configuration and laboratory setup before they enter the lab, time spent in duplicating hands-on tasks in the actual laboratory may be reduced by as much as 50%. This also reduces the amount of physical hardware required per student. With these cost-saving features, institutions on tight budgets can deliver a quality program in hydraulics with limited investment.
