Modeling with Plastics
Modeling with Plastics teaches students about the types, structure, and properties of different plastics. Students learn about the history and development of plastics, what natural and synthetic plastics are, and how to operate a thermoplastic molding machine and an injection-molding machine to produce parts.
By performing the chemistry lab experiments, students learn the basic chemistry of plastics and gain an understanding of polymers and polymerization. They also learn how plastics are fabricated, the processing methods, environmental issues and the future of plastics.
