Video Production (40026-70)

Students will be able to make special memories come alive in high-quality home movies, after developing the necessary skills in this fun, interactive module. They may discover an interest in video-production careers in entertainment, education, or advertising. This module offers plenty of opportunity for students to develop skills, discover talents and interests, and explore future possibilities of a hobby or a profession.

Students begin by studying the terms and concepts of videography. Before experimenting with certain techniques, they learn how to properly care for, handle, and operate video production equipment.

With this foundation, students are ready to learn and practice scripting, storyboarding, framing, lighting, and audio techniques. They practice these skills by producing and taping a talk show. In later segments of this module, students learn advanced techniques of lighting, audio and taping, and demonstrate their proficiency by creating more complex video productions.

A related module, Digital Video Editing (40025), may be used to complement this module.
